Replacement Car FAQs

  • Who pays for the replacement car?

    • Under our agreement with you, you will not be liable for the rental costs provided you assist us in recovery of those costs from the at-fault party or their insurer and act in accordance with the terms and conditions of our agreement.

      If we require your assistance in recovering the rental costs, this may include you having to provide documents, statements, and in some rare cases, appearing in court as a witness.

  • How quickly can I get a replacement car?

    • Usually, 1800Accident can get not at fault drivers a replacement car the same day. We can have the car delivered to your door step, arrange for it to be dropped at your smash repairer or alternatively find a time and location suitable for you to pick it up.

  • Will the car be the same or similar to my car?

    • 1800Accident aim to arrange a car of similar value and specification to your vehicle. So if you have a small hatchback or a SUV, we can get you into something similar so you can get on with your everyday life.

  • How long will I have the replacement car for?

    • In most cases, you can have a replacement car for the duration of the repair. Once you’re advised of the scheduled repair completion date, or when you are notified you will be receiving a settlement amount, you must notify us immediately so that arrangements can be made for the vehicle to be returned at a time and location convenient for you. Failure to notify us will require you to pay for any days that we are unable to recover the rental costs from the at-fault party.
